Relevate One is a Kansas City-based low-voltage and security systems integrator serving commercial, healthcare, education, and government clients throughout the region. We design, install, and service structured cabling, video surveillance, access control, and other physical security systems, and we’re growing our field team to keep pace with demand.
We’re looking for an Access Control Technician to install, program, and troubleshoot access control systems for our commercial clients. This role is hands-on and field-based, working alongside a small crew on new installations and service calls across the Kansas City metro.
What you’ll do:
- Install card readers, door controllers, request-to-exit (REX) devices, electric strikes, magnetic locks, and other access control hardware
- Run and terminate low-voltage cabling for access control and door hardware
- Program and configure access control panels and software (e.g., Gallagher, Brivo, Verkada Access, or similar platforms)
- Test and commission systems, including door hardware timing, fail-safe/fail-secure configuration, and integration with fire/life-safety systems
- Troubleshoot and repair existing access control systems, including panel, reader, and wiring issues
- Coordinate with project managers, electricians, and other trades on job sites
- Maintain accurate documentation of installed systems, wiring diagrams, and programming
- Follow all safety protocols and site-specific requirements
What you’ll need:
- 2+ years of experience installing or servicing access control systems
- Working knowledge of door hardware (electric strikes, mag locks, REX devices, door position switches) and low-voltage wiring practices
- Experience with at least one access control platform (Gallagher, Brivo, Verkada Access, Software House, Lenel, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and door schedules
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel to job sites across the Kansas City metro; occasional overnight travel for multi-day projects
- Ability to work at heights (ladders, lifts) and in a variety of site conditions
Preferred:
- BICSI certification (or working toward one)
- Experience integrating access control with video surveillance and intrusion detection systems
- Manufacturer training/certification on Gallagher, Brivo, Verkada, Axis, or similar platforms
